The sales industry was impacted by the pandemic, same as any other, but the challenges didn't keep these sales professionals from success. According to 2020 data, a majority of salespeople considered themselves more successful than the year before. This thorough report analyzes responses from sales agents as well as sales managers, and spans 4 languages. It takes a good look at trends, beliefs, and changes across the industry.
Salespeople never stop hustling — unless they're in a German-speaking market. Pipedrive took an interesting approach here by polling English-, Spanish-, German-, and Portuguese-speaking sales professionals for their report. There are more discrepancies than you might expect. Like the fact German-speaking salespeople are more likely to follow a 40-hour work week and turn down overtime, even though they're the most likely group to be compensated for it. That's just one interesting tidbit out of dozens in this detailed sales data set.

What we loved:
The demographic breakdowns at the end of this survey added a lot of context to the insights presented throughout the report. For example, knowing 38% of respondents owned their own business definitely colored how we viewed the data on appreciation vs. pride
What we didn't love:
The report itself doesn’t list how many salespeople were surveyed. We had to go to Pipedrive’s landing page to find that information, which is odd because it’s not like 1,702 is a small sample size
Summary:
This survey report starts with a large sample size of salespeople, slices and dices the data as if it were toppings at a salad bar, and finishes it off with a summary of 6 key insights.
We would have liked some actionable follow-ups on the information presented — if lead generation has become more difficult, how are salespeople dealing with that? — but the demographic breakdowns were more than interesting enough to make up for it
