about this ebook

Every product (or feature) starts as an idea. But are your ideas based on guesses and gut feelings or informed by info-gathering exercises? When you fire up baby’s first product design, don’t waste time taking shots in the dark. A mature product process is better positioned to succeed, and it grows out of research. You can run various surveys to fulfill this need, conduct customer interviews, or examine existing user data. But above all, for accurate representation, you want to make sure you’re combining…

What we loved:

InVision seems to have corrected (or guarded against) certain problems we encountered with the linkage in their other ebooks. So right off the bat, that gives this one a comparative leg-up! It makes a huge difference when the content works as intended and lets you access all the external resources. Aside from that, this is just a well-written and well-organized beginner's guide to product design.

What we didn't love:

On the flip side of all those great external resources, there are just so many of them. They're mostly descriptive links running down as full-page lists, and we can't help but wonder if there isn't a better way to integrate them into the ebook. It all seems useful, but there's so much of it and everything is separate web pages.
